Portofino Regional Park

Portofino promontory stretches 3.5 km out into the Ligurian Sea and is home
to an incredible variety of vegetation where over 1000 different plant species are found.

Northern European plant species grow along side typical Mediterranean woodland in this outstandingly beautiful setting,
characterised by rocky slopes to the South and softer hillsides to the North.

A protected Marine Reserve has recently been established to safeguard the sea-bed surrounding the promontory,
the Abbey of San Fruttuoso and San Nicolò di Capodimonte.

The area framing Portofino towards the East stretches all the way to Chiavari so making this park
a sought after destination, visited every year by thousands of nature lovers and divers.
